Bridging the gap in Offshore Wind Support

The rapid growth of offshore wind farms to meet global energy demands has highlighted a significant shortage of mid-sized Service Operation Vessels (SOVs). While large SOVs are ideal for servicing expansive wind farms and Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) handle smaller-scale operations, a gap remains for the projects that require a more versatile, cost-effective solution.

With offshore wind farm sizes projected to grow by 50% by 2030 and ambitious targets like the EU’s goal of 300GW of offshore wind capacity by 2050, the need for efficient vessel solutions has never been more pressing. Saltwater Engineering addresses this challenge with its innovative mid-sized SOV design, tailored to bridge the operational gap and support the renewable energy transition.

Introducing Blue Dawn

A new Horizon of possibilities

Saltwater Engineering proudly presents its latest innovation, the Blue Dawn – a 60 meter mid-sized SOV designed to meet the growing demand for versatile, cost-effective solutions in the offshore renewable market. This concept was born out of insightful conversations with clients who expressed their enthusiasm for Saltwater’s existing SOV, the Blue Sky, and a shared recognition of the market gap between large SOV’s and CTV’s.

By combining the proven capabilities of the Blue Sky with tailored refinements to meet mid-range operational needs, the Blue Dawn offers a purpose-built solution for offshore wind operations. The experts of Saltwater Engineering were focused on developing a vessel that delivers efficiency, adaptability, and sustainability – all while addressing the unique demands for mid-sized projects.
